Honda/Acura recommends replacing your V6 timing belt every 7 years or 105,000 miles, whichever comes first. Because the water pump is driven by the timing belt, replacing them together is the only way to save on massive labor costs later.
What happens if your belt breaks?
Honda/Acura engines are what is known as an interference angle engines, which will cause pistons and valves to collide with one another when the timing belt breaks. If that happens, you will need expensive engine repairs, $3000 to $5000, depending on the damage.
